When it comes to nutrition and weight loss, it’s hard to decide what approach to take. What foods are actually healthy for me? Should I eat high protein? Plant-based? Low fat? Or wait…is fat good? And what about carbs? It’s totally confusing and often stopped me from trying to meal prep altogether.
Everything changed when I got the right products in my hands. I could calculate how many daily calories for my body and portion the right amount of veggies, protein, fruit, carbs, and fat. Overall, I found products that made meal prepping and weight loss much easier, and I’m excited to share them with you!
1. Glass Meal Prep Containers
I’ve had plastic meal prep containers in the past. They were flimsy and many ended up cracking! I love these glass meal prep containers because they are microwave and dishwasher safe. You can even heat them up to 725 degrees! The 10 pack is nice because I use the big ones for lunch or dinner, and the smaller containers for breakfast.
2. Colorful Portion Containers
These are the holy grail of meal prep. The colorful portion containers take the guessing out of meal prep. This package comes with a guide to help you calculate daily calories based on your goals, body, and activity level. Then it suggests how many of each container to eat each day. I use the containers to come up with meals for the week.
3. Gallon Water Bottle
Water intake is MONUMENTAL in weight loss. It flushes toxins out, helps you stay full, and even clears your skin. If I am dehydrated I tend to crave salty and sweet foods! (That means junk food). This gallon water bottle helps me stay accountable to my water intake.
4. Stasher Reusable Silicone Bags
These stasher reusable silicone bags are awesome for meal prep! I love throwing together smoothie ingredients. All I have to do when I want a smoothie is grab it from the freezer, add almond milk, and blend. These bags are dishwasher safe and microwave safe, oven and fridge friendly. You can even boil them!
I hope these products help you on your meal prep and weight loss journey! Starting out is always tough when incorporating new habits, but remember to take things one step at a time and keep showing up!! Progress, not perfection. I believe in you. You believe in you. -Lauren
